Accessibility Statement

We want Play Parking to be usable by as many people as possible. Here is what we do, and where we know we fall short.

What we have built in

  • Keyboard play: every game is fully playable with the keyboard (W/A/S/D or arrow keys, Space, P, R, C, M). Menus and game buttons are standard, focusable buttons with visible focus outlines.
  • Touch and mouse: large, clearly labelled on-screen buttons for steering, gas and brake/reverse. The page does not scroll while you are using them.
  • Status in text, not only color: the game status bar describes what is happening ("Straighten up (6° off)", "Hold…", "Needs 70% accuracy"), and key events such as level start, success and failure are announced to screen readers through a polite live region.
  • Pause any time: press P or Esc, or use the Pause button. Games also pause automatically when you switch tabs.
  • Reduced motion: if your system asks for reduced motion, pulsing highlights, camera smoothing and hover animations are turned off.
  • Sound off: all sound can be muted; no information is conveyed by sound alone.
  • Themes and contrast: light and dark themes with text colors chosen for strong contrast.
  • Structure: semantic HTML, a skip link, descriptive headings, breadcrumbs and descriptive link text throughout.

Known limitations

  • The games are visual, real-time challenges drawn on an HTML canvas. The status bar and announcements help, but the games are not fully playable without sight.
  • Some levels have time limits or moving traffic. Most games have levels without a time limit; Parking Lot, Parking Challenge and Reverse Parking are good places to start.
  • Holding keys or buttons is required to drive; there is currently no "toggle" mode.

Feedback

If you encounter a barrier, please contact us and tell us the page, the device or assistive technology you use and what went wrong. We aim to conform with WCAG 2.2 level AA for the website content and will prioritize fixes that remove barriers.
